In the goldsmith Art, the filigree is an Arabic style imitation ,with very thin gold and silver wires which created a vast number of fragile and elegant shapes. In Liguria, between the end of the eighteenth century and the beginning of the nineteenth ?s a lot of families attempted to manufacture filigree but, thanks to the old tradition, just in Campo Ligure, 33 workshops were opened. The preciousness of these manufactured products comes from the craftsman?s patient and meticulous workmanship, that continuously renovates trough ancient gestures. In the workshops Art and Technique blend into the craftsman?s workmanship; he creates his filigree ?s jewelleries by using the ?bruscelle?(different size of tweezers) and a welding torch. The filigree Museum shows about 200 examples, found and collected all around the world... each one includes as well as a precious decoration also customs and usages, traditions, religion and economy of the different origin countries From Tuesday to Friday 3.30-6 p.m.; on Saturday and Sunday 10.30-12.00 a.m. 3.30-6 p.m. Close on Monday.
