Focaccia Recco

Recco

Linked with the homonym city, the "focaccia" comes from a legend: it seems that from the XVI to the XVII century, when Recco was an easy target for bandit `s attacks, men stayed to defend their lands, while women left to hinterland with their children and elders, bringing wheat, oil and salt. Once they felt save, they kneaded the wheat with the stream water and bartered salt and oil with some cheese. Elders, who used to pick up wood and light up the fire, started to lean some slate stone on the coal to cook the mixture. So then, the "focaccia" was born.
