Whalewatching Liguria

Imperia

In 1955 a fisherman in San Diego invented the first service of Whale Watching. In Italy it has been introduced in 1996 when Albert Sturlese in cooperation with other marine biologist proposed the first boat excursion with the purpose to see the giant cetaceus. Whale Watching means observig these animals but also finance their protection and help preserve their habitat. Liguria is crossed by the Cetaceus Sanctuary an international cooperation project between France and Italy to defend the whale?s environment and stimulate sustainable fluxes of tourist.
